San Miguel, around town and Spring finds for the shop

An amazing collection of ancient silver coins, crosses and rings found via metal detector all over Mexico, bought pieces to incorporate into our jewelry.

From tamales to intricately woven baskets, five blocks of crafts.

It was hard to find antique textiles, but many beautiful new wares.

Hacienda Montaecristo leather and rebozo bags.

Love the church candles.

Antique silver necklace and ring, on top of a back strap loomed shawl.

Huipil from Oaxaca, hat from Panama.

Mineral de Pozos

A mine in the distance, they were peppered throughout the countryside, the last mine, the Angustias-Dolores, closed  in 1927.

A beautiful ruin, the silver mines and ghost towns of Pozos.

The walls were built to last, at one time this area was very wealthy with a thriving population, by 1950, the population was just over 200.

Where the wood burning stove was.

I couldn't resist bringing some of the pieces I found for the shop to Pozos for an impromptu photo shoot.

This woven bracelet is from the Amazon, and is used to protect your arm when using a bow and arrow.

Magnificent landscape.

Another for the catalog/postcard- Oaxacan hand loomed indigo dyed poncho.

Another piece from Oaxaca, a hand loomed and embroidered Huipil.

A former tourist attraction, no longer in business, when we went to the mines, we were the only ones there.

The beautiful town, sun faded colors.

Antiquing in San Miquel De Allende and on the road to Dolores Hidalgo

This shop was on the way to Dolores Hidalgo, famous for tile.

Lots of larger pieces of Terracotta, rustic wood, colonial doors, Architectural salvage and religious artifacts.

Beautiful carved pieces.

An assortment of Masks out of town.

Great old paint on furniture.

Hand forged mid-century garden chairs, if I had a house in San Miguel these would have been ours.

These as well! love the generous proportions.

Antique tile, in a town filled with tile this was a rarity, all tiles seem to be newly made in any pattern you can imagine- we bought these for our kitchen, or for an outdoor built-in.

This shop was introduced to us by our friend Lisa Kingsley, lots of Masks, Milagros, silver, and retablos.
